We live at the bottom of an ocean of air. 11 We live submerged at the bottom of an ocean of the element air, which by unquestioned experiments is known to have weight… Noi viviamo sommersi nel fondo di un pelago d’aria elementare, la quale per esperienze indubitate si sa che pesa…Żyjemy na dnie morza powietrza, które – jak wynika z doświadczenia – ma ciężar… Evangelista Torricelli, 11.06.1644 ↩︎ Immersed in water in a gaseous state, we experience phenomena resulting from water circulating in the atmosphere. Their diversity is shown by the old meteorological symbols. This game teaches us to recognize them, to use them to create moving synoptic charts, weather prognoses, navigating between the air currents. Let’s get prepared for the future meteorological unknown, playing this game and getting to know the elements and the correlations between them.
This game begins with everyone reaching into the bag and picking out a pin with a meteorological symbol. Everyone individually finds their chosen symbol on the respective card to learn the meteorological phenomenon whose role they will be playing. In the area, the group creates a moving synoptic chart, with each person doing the movements of the phenomenon they chose. They all interact with one another in their role, arranging themselves so that their phenomena result from or follow each other. This game end with a weather prognosis that could arise from the phenomena played out, which might be illustrated through the pins on the textile chart.
